This downtown Vancouver wedding is the perfect example of why you should split your wedding into two days.
Nicole and Jared are private people who didn’t want to express their deep feelings for one another in front of a huge crowd. For this reason, as well as to make their larger celebration simpler, they chose to hold their ceremony before their larger wedding celebration.
On a rainy Wednesday, their immediate family gathered underneath the gazebo at Rocky Point Park for a simple, sweet ceremony. The couple shared their vows, exchanged rings, and had their first kiss. Immediately following the signing of the marriage papers, we did family photos and spent some time doing couples portraits before the family all headed off to enjoy brunch.
The next day, I met Nicole and her bridal party in their hotel room. I shared lots of laughs with them, while also stepping out to photograph Jared and his groomsmen. A few shots later, dresses and suits put on, we walked over to the Vancouver Public Library.
The couple chose to have a first look in their wedding attire. We went right into more family photos, wedding party photos, and took a few more couples portraits with the stunning library architecture.
The rest of this downtown Vancouver wedding took place at the Loft at Earls. The evening was filled with socializing with guests, speeches, games, and most iconic: a dance by Nicole’s Irish dance group (as well as a special feature from the groom).
