Karlee and Saurabh’s Victoria wedding perfectly exemplifies classical elegance. They chose to keep their celebration calm and laid-back.
The day began at Karlee’s parents’ home, where the bride and groom spent the morning getting ready together. Her family members actively participated, helping with hair and makeup, cooking breakfast, and assembling the bouquets and boutonnieres.
After Karlee put on her dress, Saurabh waited in the backyard for their first look, with the family watching from the side. They shared a special moment and exchanged hugs all around.
We soon departed for couple portraits at Mount Doug Beach, where the couple eagerly walked in the sand and climbed over rocks and logs. Then, we headed to UVic for the ceremony and reception at the Alumni building.
We made a quick stop at Finnerty Gardens, a special place for the couple, who spent lots of time there during their schooling. It was fitting to take some portraits in the gardens.
At the Alumni building, Karlee hid away as guests arrived for the small ceremony. They said their vows in front of the pond, sealed it with a kiss, and officially became newlyweds.
During cocktail hour, more guests arrived and were ushered into the reception hall after appetizers. The reception began with a first dance and thank you speech by the couple. Dinner was served promptly, and I snuck out with the couple to capture some golden hour portraits.
Soon, the dance floor opened up, and Karlee and Saurabh ended their Victoria wedding dancing the night away.
