This Vancouver Island costume wedding is everything but your traditional wedding. That’s the part that I love about weddings – there are no rules. Your wedding is a day that is fully, 100% all about you. There are no rules, and you can plan a day that completely represents who you are as a couple.
Cat and Colton took their wedding day and ran with it. Complete with a margarita slushy machine, faerie ears, and a costume party, this is one of the most fun weddings I’ve had the pleasure of photographing.
The couple wanted to have a super relaxed, casual backyard costume party with their closest family and friends. And they achieved exactly this goal.
The afternoon began with a ceremony where Cat wore faerie ears and the most stunning, sparkly gown you’ve ever seen. The groom equally matched her vibe wearing his striped pants and gold headband. The ceremony was naturally followed up by photos with their cat and a shot.
A few quick portraits kicked off the rest of the evening while the guests changed into their costumes. Dinner was boxes upon boxes of pizza, and they completed the evening with a scavenger hunt in which the guests fully committed themselves.
The party was still just beginning when photo coverage was over, but I just know the good vibes stayed strong throughout the night. This Vancouver Island costume wedding is certainly one you should keep in your pinterest board for inspiration.
