If you’re searching for inspiration for a Grand Hall Wedding in District 1881, this beautiful celebration in Chilliwack was the perfect example of why I love being a Fraser Valley Wedding Photographer.
Set in the heart of historic downtown District 1881, this wedding at The Grand Hall in Chilliwack was filled with emotion from the very beginning of the day. As a British Columbia wedding photographer, I’ve witnessed so many beautiful celebrations – but this one stood out for how deeply connected and family-focused it felt.
One of the sweetest moments of the afternoon was the bride and groom’s daughter walking down the aisle as the flower girl and meeting her dad for a hug. It was so sweet and you could just see all the love radiating off everyone.
As typical with most weddings, the wedding began slightly chaotic. The groom and his groomsmen were running slightly behind, which ended up cutting into our photo time. As a wedding photographer, this is something I see often and am able to quickly and efficiently take all the shots we need without making anyone feel more stressed.
A meaningful moment happened for me a few months later – I ran into the groom at a restaurant, and all he could talk about was how at ease that felt that morning working with me despite the chaos of a wedding timeline running behind.
As a candid wedding photographer whose main goal is to ensure couples feel calm and are enjoying their wedding day, this meant so much to hear. Your wedding day is more than just getting beautiful photos – it’s making sure you feel seen, heard, and supported on your wedding day. Especially during moments like a busy getting ready morning, it is so important to have someone steady and calm in the room with you – and I am more than happy to be that person.
The Grand Hall has one of the most beautiful interiors for a wedding ceremony that I have ever seen. With it’s large windows and white walls, it provides gorgeous natural lighting for your ceremony, and an easy transition into flash photography later in the evening. The rest of the building is complete with brick walls and elegant touches that make the entire place feel chic and luxe.
If you’re looking to have a simple, yet sophisticated ceremony, The Grand Hall is the perfect space to have your wedding ceremony.
