This golden hour guitar photoshoot in Vancouver was so much fun to photograph with my close Alexa and Jamison. I met Alexa 5 years ago through Instagram, and we’ve created so many times together. This time I had the privilege of shooting with her and her (now) fiance.
In all honesty, it can be a little nerve-wracking photographing people I know personally, but it’s also so rewarding because we’re able to connect in such a meaningful and artistic way. We can really create something beautiful, and it was such a privilege to be able to create photos for them that they can cherish for the rest of their lives.
The idea behind this golden hour photoshoot was to do a storytelling guitar and music focused couples session. This photoshoot was very candid and activity-based. Choosing an activity is the best way to get authentic, candid photos, especially if you or your partner are nervous about getting in front of the camera
If you’re looking for a candid photographer in Vancouver or the Fraser Valley, I would absolutely love to help you dream something up.
I have so many activity ideas depending on your vibe:
And these are only just a few of my ideas. The goal is always the same: create space for you to feel natural, connected, and fully yourselves. The more your session reflects your real life and real interests, the more meaningful (and relaxed) it will feel.
Alexa and Jamison’s golden hour guitar photoshoot in Vancouver is a such a great reminder that photoshoots don’t have to be super posed or awkward – they can full of giggles, authentic moments, and story-telling.
