There are tons of different editing styles out there, so the first thing for you to do is figure out which style you like best and which style you’d like your wedding photos to be. Do you like bright and airy photos, or dark and contrast? If you’re not sure, go through Pinterest or instagram and come up with a collection of photos you like and then figure out what you like about each photo, so you can look for these things in potential photographers photos. Don’t even message a photographer if you don’t like how they edit! They won’t change their editing style for you and you can find someone you like and who has the editing style you prefer
2. Their posing style
Do you like photos that look more natural and candid, or do you prefer posed photos? Do you like more serious photos or do you like fun, laughing photos? When you picture your wedding photos in frames or hanging on your walls, what do you see? What do you prefer?
3. how do they interact with you?
Do they respond quickly and informatively, or do they leave you hanging? Do they seem super serious or more laid back? What kind of a person do you want to work with — someone super professional, or someone more relaxed who feels more like a friend? Very importantly, does your photographer ask you questions — are they invested in your love story and want to know more, or do they just seem like they want the booking?
4. Look for reviews on their page!!
This one is super important. look on their page for reviews from previous clients. You’ll be able to read about the experiences of past clients and how they liked working with the photographer and this will be a good indication of what your experience will be like. if a lot of the reviews sound the same, this is a good thing! That means the photographer is consistent and you know what to expect
5. Price
Is the photographer in your budget? If they are way over your budget they are not the photographer for you, and if they are way under they also are probably not the photographer for you. Do they also offer add ons to their wedding packages and are they accommodating?
Those are just some of the questions you should be asking yourself when sifting through the photographers out there! Hopefully this helps you narrow down your search and become more clear and what you’re looking for in a photographer
