A cabin elopement is the perfect way to have a cozy, intimate, and romantic wedding with your loved ones. It’s also a great way to have a multi-day celebration, rather than spending only one day on your wedding.
Kristin and Chanse decided a wedding at Kristin’s family cabin was the perfect way to go. On the tail end of COVID, they decided they wanted their bubble all together for their big day. Having already been there for the week, I showed up the morning of their wedding to an already decorated cabin.
Chanse was getting ready inside the cabin with his family and groomsmen. Putting on the final details, they took an obligatory getting ready shot. I went over to where the bride and her bridesmaid were getting ready in another cabin just across the way. It was very peaceful as they finished up their makeup and put dresses on.
Once they were all ready, family and friends gathered just outside for the cabin elopement ceremony. It kicked off with the couples dogs running down the aisle, followed by the entrance of the bride. With their friend They read their vows, cried, and sealed it with a kiss.
Then, we headed down to the lake with only the couple and their witnesses for a legal ceremony. It was quick, and they celebrated by shotgunning a drink.
We then met up with the rest of the bridal party to take photos with them and portraits with just the couple. Finishing up the photo session with family photos, where we were blessed with a rainbow.
We headed back up to the cabin, where the couple had a first dance, cake cutting, and dinner. It wasn’t long before everyone put on their comfy clothes (including a matching sweatsuit for the newly weds) and the drinking began.
I was lucky enough to spend the night at the cabin with everyone, and had so much bonding time with the couple and their guests. The party went late into the night, and I made sure to carry my camera with me to get some fun shots.
