This punk wedding in Victoria, BC exemplifies how couples can incorporate personal elements into their wedding day. As a super laid-back couple, these punks aimed to celebrate their wedding in a way that reflected their personality and style, while keeping the atmosphere lowkey and relaxed.
The day began with getting ready photos in the hotel room, where I met the bride and her bridesmaid. Everyone relaxed and prepared themselves while enjoying some tunes.
The ceremony, held at Saxe Point Park, was both formal and casual. Under umbrellas and tents, the groom and guests eagerly awaited the bride’s arrival. She made a grand entrance, and the groom smiled broadly as soon as she appeared.
Amidst the rain, which added a romantic touch, the couple exchanged heartfelt vows. Afterward, guests mingled with each other and the newlyweds, capturing punk-style photos at the altar and including their dog in a few shots.
As guests departed, we took more romantic photos around the park, capturing a variety of scenery and personalities.
Later, at the reception, held in a simple hall adorned with twinkling fairy lights and orange florals, the couple greeted me. The casual atmosphere allowed guests to chat, enjoy pizza, and indulge in the candy bar.
Touching speeches followed, and the couple shared their first dance before thanking their guests for attending. The evening concluded with dancing and board games, creating lasting memories for all.
This punk wedding in Victoria fully encompassed the couple’s personalities and demonstrates how you can take your wedding to put a personal spin on it.
