A Sea to Sky Gondola wedding is the perfect setting to say “I do” with a stunning mountain view. If you want a gorgeous backdrop to tie the knot without the hiking part, this one’s for you.
The one requirement Melissa and Kat had for the intimate elopement was mountains. So, a wedding at the Sea to Sky Gondola in Squamish was the perfect venue for them.
I met up with Melissa at the ceremony spot. She prepped herself by writing her vows out on paper, getting the rings ready, and setting up the livestream for family at home. It wasn’t long before Kat walked down the aisle, and they were all smiles at the altar.
Melissa and Kat had the sweetest ceremony, where two of their closest friends and Melissa’s mom watched. It concluded with hugs, saying hi to family over face time, signing marriage papers, and taking a few photos with their guests.
Then, everyone cleared out to enjoy the mountain views, while we got busy taking portraits. We spent time at the Howe Sound Lookout and the Sky Pilot Lookout. Melissa and Kat so easily got into the groove of taking photos, although both expressing they’re camera shy.
After a quick outfit change, we headed over to the suspension bridge. Having chose to get married later in the day, we were so blessed to have the bridge nearly to ourselves, something that’s rare at a Sea to Sky Gondola wedding in the middle of the summer.
Finishing up with portraits, we headed to the seating on the deck where the newly weds cut their cake. I said goodbye to the gorgeous couple, and left them to finish their special day amongst the mountains.
