A Whytecliff Park elopement is a beautiful reminder that nature truly is the best backdrop for your special day. Ivet and Stan chose to marry surrounded by the stunning scenery of Whytecliff Park, opting for an intimate outdoor celebration instead of the traditional church wedding typical of their home country.
I first met Ivet and Stan nearly three years ago when they were guests at a close friend’s elopement I was photographing (check it out here). We had such a wonderful time together that I was thrilled when Ivet reached out during their planning process to discuss capturing their own big day.
The couple rented a cozy Airbnb for the day, which would serve as both their getting-ready spot and reception venue. I arrived at the Airbnb in the afternoon, where the couple and their family were enjoying charcuterie and sweets, creating a warm, relaxed atmosphere. As they got ready, we captured some beautiful detail shots, setting the tone for what would be an incredibly special day.
Before long, we made our way to Whytecliff Park for the ceremony and portraits. The park, known for its breathtaking ocean views and rugged cliffs, made for the perfect setting for their intimate celebration. We waited for Ivet’s arrival while taking in the stunning surroundings, knowing that this nature-filled backdrop would make their photos unforgettable.
Ivet and Stan wanted to make their entrance together, so Ivet’s father walked her halfway down the aisle before passing her to Stan. Their ceremony was brief but meaningful, featuring a handfasting ritual and the exchange of rings. After the kiss, they spent some time embracing their families before signing the papers, marking the official start of their married life.
After the ceremony, we quickly took family portraits before sending the guests back to the Airbnb. This gave us time to capture some beautiful, intimate photos of the couple amidst the towering cliffs and open ocean views. Ivet and Stan were incredible during the photo session. They climbed rocks, ventured up cliffs—even in heels—and were up for anything that helped create lasting memories.
I gave the couple a moment to themselves to enjoy the peaceful surroundings and reflect on their day, capturing a few ring shots while they relaxed. We wrapped up the portrait session with a sweet moment—a first dance, which they had planned for later in the evening.
Back at the Airbnb, the table was beautifully set, and Emelle’s Catering had prepared a delicious dinner for everyone to enjoy. The evening ended on a sweet note with a cake cutting that was both adorable and heartfelt.
A Whytecliff Park elopement is the perfect choice for couples looking to escape the typical wedding structure and create something deeply personal. The stunning natural beauty of the park provides an incredible backdrop for a small, intimate ceremony, and its rugged cliffs and ocean views offer a perfect setting for your portraits. For Ivet and Stan, their day was an intimate reflection of their love and personalities, surrounded by their closest family and friends in one of the most picturesque locations.
If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that feels authentic to you, a Whytecliff Park elopement allows you to celebrate in nature, surrounded by beauty, and with the people who matter most. Whether you’re hiking cliffs, dancing in the open air, or simply enjoying a quiet moment together, an elopement in this stunning setting will make your day unforgettable.
