This gorgeous garden party wedding in Vancouver, British Columbia, oozes class, luxury, and chic.
I met Maren and her sister at the hotel in the morning for getting ready and detail photos. Everything about the scene was so peaceful and relaxed, which is rare on the morning of a wedding day.
Once dressed, Maren headed to the venue to prepare for the first look with Adam. We captured sweet portraits after their first look, and Maren took a few moments to admire the beautifully decorated backyard.
Guests arrived and were greeted with multiple entertainment stations. These included a bouquet-making station, a well-wishes tree, and vintage furniture placed throughout the property. The thoughtful activities created a warm, interactive atmosphere that made everyone feel included.
Entertainment is often overlooked at weddings, but it’s crucial to ensure your guests have a great time. While your wedding day is all about you, your guests are there to celebrate your love and support you. Many of them have made sacrifices—arranging babysitters, adjusting schedules, and traveling—just to be there for you. Keeping them entertained adds a layer of joy and helps make your wedding memorable for years to come.
In addition to creative stations like Maren and Adam’s, there are countless ways to delight your guests. Consider hiring a live DJ, magician, comedian, caricature artist, or even a live wedding painter. These unique touches leave lasting impressions and create moments guests will rave about for years.
Soon, it was time for the ceremony. Maren walked down the aisle looking absolutely stunning. The couple exchanged vows under a chuppah in a Jewish ceremony that ended with the traditional smashing of the glass. After the ceremony, we snapped family photos and a few more portraits of the couple.
Maren and Adam chose to host their wedding on a private property, which presented some challenges. The backyard wasn’t entirely flat, making setup tricky. However, they maximized the space brilliantly. Tables were thoughtfully arranged throughout the yard, the patio became a cozy gathering area, and there was a designated dance floor. They even transformed the ceremony area into a reception space seamlessly.
Returning to the garden party, we were greeted with a full buffet. Guests enjoyed heartfelt speeches, plenty of cheers, and the warm ambiance of the garden. We snuck away for a few golden-hour portraits and returned to a lively celebration.
The night ended on a high note with dancing. Maren and Adam shared their first dance and participated in a joyous horah, where they were lifted in chairs by friends and family.
This inspired garden party wedding shows how nature and thoughtful planning can create the perfect setting for an intimate celebration with loved ones. Whether you’re entertaining guests with unique activities or transforming a private property into a dreamy venue, there are endless ways to make your day unforgettable.
